Rearcross trekked to Murroe for this pre-season friendly and came out on the wrong end of a five nil score line against a physically stronger team on this occasion. Rearcross played admirably in the first half and trailed one nil at the half time break after Jack O'Carroll scored with fine effort for the Limerick side. Indeed credit must go to Rearcross keeper Cathal Kennedy who produced a string of saves to keep the scoreline to a minimum in the opening half. Rearcross got off to a bad start in the second half and conceded three quickfire goals with Jack Carroll netting twice in addition to a well worked effort from Jay Ryan. The Rea boys tried hard to get back in to the tie but were unable to make inroads and then Jay Ryan wrapped it up for the hosts midway through the half. Rearcross with the majority of their team a year under the age will re-group for the NTSFL campaign ahead and look forward to their opening Shield game against Holycross.
